Pierre-François Forissier

Expert Naval Défense

Admiral Pierre-François Forissier served for 40 years in the French Navy, primarily in the submarine force, where he commanded the nuclear attack submarine Rubis and the nuclear ballistic missile submarine Le Tonnant before becoming Admiral Commanding the Submarine Forces (ALFOST). Outside of his submarine duties, he served as a maneuvering officer on the aircraft carrier Foch and as head of the Finance Office at Naval Headquarters. A Major General in the Navy from 2005 to 2008, he was Chief of the Naval Staff from 2008 to 2011. He then became a director of several companies in diverse sectors unrelated to defense and is a full member of the French Naval Academy, where he chairs the Naval Military Section. He now joins the Vauban128 network of experts in the field of Naval Defense.
