Philippe Malbranche

Energy Expert

Philippe Malbranche is a graduate engineer from École Centrale Paris. His entire career has revolved around renewable energies , primarily solar energy, in all its aspects: field deployment in Europe and developing countries, manufacturing, systems engineering, and energy policy. He has dedicated nearly three decades to research and innovation, first as Head of Laboratory at CEA-GENEC and then as Director General of INES (National Institute for Solar Energy), focusing on materials, processes, systems, and integration across all sectors (grids, buildings, transportation, agriculture, and industry). His last salaried position was Deputy Director General of the International Solar Alliance, which brings together 120 countries committed to developing solar energy. Now an independent consultant, he continues to contribute to key industry events, including international exhibitions and conferences, and has recently joined the Vauban 128 network of energy experts.
